The Rights To Ricky Sanchez: The Sixers (76ers) Podcast (Time's Yours)

Sacramento, home of Sam Hinkie's greatest swindle, is where the current Sixers win streak ends. We talk about the Utah and Sacramento games, the torturous interview with Jerry Colangelo, Joel Embiid's load management, Markelle Fultz's left handed jumpers, and our baby, Robert Covington (he's our baby).

The Sixers beat the Mavericks. Then they beat the Rockets. Then they beat the Hawks. THEN THEY BEAT THE PACERS! What is going on?! It's possible the Sixers are too good, and it's here to stay. We talk about the amazing play of both Simmons and Embiid, the growth of Robert Covington, the new starting lineup, and of course, TJ McConnell. We also dive into the never ending Jahlil Okafor fiasco.

Everything has been awfully serious and sometimes depressing over the last week, so we decided to lighten the mood with an all-mailbag Ricky. We picked creative questions. We'll talk about getting into a hot tub with Sixers, all-time spin moves, seeing John Gonzalez naked, some Jigsaws for Mike, running over Lou Bega, and more.

If we didn't get to your question, we will next time! Or the next time! We will do more of these.

Just as we all predicted, the Sixers had a lead in the fourth quarter and lost to the Rockets. Are we at the point yet where we can start being mad at losses like this? We discuss the TJ McConnell game, the performance of the young stars Simmons and Embiid, and Brett Brown's coaching decisions down the stretch.

We also discuss the most Sixers controversy of all-time, the Markelle Fultz injury-non-injury-what's-wrong-with-his-shot fiasco.

For the first time in a few years, the Sixers won a game before December. To put that in perspective, the last time the Sixers won a game before December, that Sixers team had Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes on it.

We do talk about the election for the first 45 or 46 minutes. It is spirited but we still love each other and you. You can skip past it if you've had enough.

We discuss the win over the Pacers, the near-win over the Pacers, the return of Robert Covington to the land of the living, the Joel Embiid podcast with Woj, JoJo's rest and the early success of the Los Angeles Lakers. Also, the newly discovered controversy regarding Bryan Colangelo.

'Trust The Process,' is a little phrase that we're all probably a little sick of and proud of at the same time.

When we look back at where it started (in this context at least), we can whittle it down to this; Tony Wroten said it, Pablo Torre wrote it, we ran with it, Joel Embiid perfected it.

It's been a long time coming, but we've finally got ESPN's Pablo Torre on the podcast to talk about his original Hinkie article, where it all went, and how awesome Joel Embiid is.

The season begins this week, and we look ahead and make our predictions for the 2016-17 Sixers. How long will Nerlens Noel be on the team? How much longer will everyone fight about it? How many games will they win? Will Ben Simmons play at all? Will Hollis Thompson shoot 40% from three? How long will it take us to make a lewd joke about Jerryd Bayless' wrist soreness?

And finally... Joel Embiid?

Joel Embiid really played a game! Then he played another one! And he looked good! We discuss Embiid's debut, his embracing of his new nickname, and how everyone else on the team looked in the first two games.

Then, we're treated to a game of TEST THE PROCESS! Boy, this will be embarrassing. Spike and Mike compete against each other in a round of trivia hosted by none other than Andrew 'Invented Sauce Castillo, The Nickname Not The Guy,' Unterberger. We talk about Bryan Colangelo's appearance on The Vertical Podcast, the opening of the new practice facility, NBA2K 17, the 20 man roster, Vegas' over/under for the team, and Joel Embiid's upcoming debut. We also discuss Sam Hinkie's follows on Twitter.

It's been two weeks, so we have a lot to talk about. Also, it's the offseason, so we're committed to doing something pretty different or absurd in each podcast.

First, we discuss Sam Hinkie's Twitter awakening, Allen Iverson's Hall Of Fame speech, Brett Brown's press lunch, the return of Elton Brand, and the various Embiid media of the week.

Then, we provide you with something incredible and ridiculous. We've recorded and put together an audiobook of Sam Hinkie's resignation letter. The various pages are read by us, LL Pavorsky, Max Rappaport and Jim Adair, Chris Ryan and Andy Greenwald, Sean Carroll, Andrew Goldstein, Ben Detrick, Mike Weber, Michael Baumann, and Eliza Hardy Jones. Not the "draft, summer league" sort of offseason, but the "check in on Eagles training camp, talk even more about Jahlil Okafor, celebrate the signing of Dion Waiters, discuss the change in the Analytics Department, and do an extended relationship advice" sort of offseason.

Thanks to Dave Spadaro, host of the Eagles Live Podcast, for checking in from Training Camp.

In any case, this episode was recorded "live," as Mike says, when in really means "when we're both in the same room." We discuss our feelings on the week, a few days later, the home court finale, which we both attended, the Josh Harris presser, the upcoming Lottery Party, and the future of the team and the podcast.
