The Rights To Ricky Sanchez: The Sixers (76ers) Podcast

Butch Walker is on the Mount Rushmore of Spike’s favorite musicians, and joined us to talk about his new album American Love Story, a rock opera about our divided country, how he’s ended up with only superfans, the two cafes in Australia named in his honor, when he knew he made it, his dog Aldo, and producing mega-acts like Green Day and Weezer. We also discussed the NBAs potential playoff setups in Orlando, as well as the players desire to have nice hotel rooms (amazingly we did not hear anything about the owners who are probably happy with whatever!).

You can listen to American Love Story here, buy the vinyl here, follow Butch on Instagram and Twitter. Here is a Spotify playlist Spike made for Mike of Butch Walker essentials.

The NBA is going to try it, and we're going to talk about it. We discuss the plan to restart the season at Disney World, and the different options the league has presented to the teams, along with the reality of fewer than ten games from now until December. We talk about a new Process book that has the support of the team, and how a pro-CEO story ends up sounding. A return to relationship advice, our best memorabilia, These Uncertain Times and what we've grown to appreciate most.

One year since the Kawhi Leonard quadruple doink, why it still hurts, and what would have happened in overtime. We discuss the NBPA conference call with seven people who we can’t imagine on one conference call talking about restarting the NBA. And Matt from Mt. Joy joins us to talk about whether we’ll remember the Sixers season better if they never play again, the artistic merit of Here They Come, the creative process during Quarantine, if Kevin O’Connor is a liar, and more. Matt also performs his cover of a Tony T. classic, and “Death” from Mt. Joy’s new album.

Tony Wroten is a legend, the guy who said Trust The Process first, and one of our favorite players since the Process began. We harassed Tony on Twitter to let us call him and talk to him during the Summer of 2017. While he was sleepy, he gave us 50 minutes of every story we wanted.

The podcast will return with a new one on Wednesday. Sorry for the missed Sunday, use it as an opportunity to catch up!
